BSc (Hons) in Computer Games Development with Specialism in Games Concept Art

The specialism share similar modules with BSc (Hons) in Computer Games Development in Year 1. Further in-depth game art concept analysis and design skills are developed at Year 2, while the games design modules take you through the complete computer games production life cycle. The context of digital representation and manipulation that are the foundation for animation is introduced. Besides that, concepts and algorithms in producing, manipulating and transforming graphical objects that are useful in digital art design are also offered. Next, animation and digital image manipulation are key areas of study at Year 3. Advanced techniques for computer graphics and animation are built on the skills acquired at previous levels, and audio for computer games will be acquired. Year 3 modules also present approaches to designing and evaluating applications with an emphasis on the user perspective and from the designer’s point of view. Apart from that, you are to prepared and trained to manage the tasks in the business world by investigating and developing a computer game prototype as your final year project and also parts of your portfolio. Last but not least, students learn the skills and techniques to conceptualize ideas or information via pieces of art.
