Methodist College Kuala Lumpur (MCKL)was founded as a private educational institution in January 1983 by the Methodist Council of Education. The Founder Principal was Mrs. F R Bhupalan. Secondary classes (Forms 1 to 5), Sixth Form and A-level classes were conducted and the enrollment increased dramatically with the success achieved by the College.
Due to the growing student population, a new campus was established in Sentul in 1994 and Forms 1 to 5 classes were moved in stages to what is now called the Wesley Methodist School, Sentul. This move was completed in 1999 and Methodist College Kuala Lumpur, Brickfields is now focused on providing pre-university studies, diploma and certificate level courses as a private higher education institute (Institut Pengajian Tinggi Swasta – IPTS).
